Binge-Free God’s Way: Why Diets Don’t Heal Trauma

If you’ve struggled with losing weight and find yourself stuck in a cycle of yo-yo dieting, I want to speak to you.

Growing up, I watched my mom and older sister go on and off countless diets, which taught me unhealthy patterns with food. At 18, I started my first diet, and it’s been a battle ever since. As a young girl, I struggled with emotional eating, and those behaviors followed me into adulthood.

After my mom passed away in 2007, I found a prayer she had written:

“I pray for Paula, myself, and others struggling with fat that robs our lives and time. Fat hurts us; it lies, punishes, and consumes our energy. Most importantly, it takes our joy, peace, and happiness.”

This heartfelt prayer reflects the decades-long battle I’ve faced. For over 30 years, my struggles with weight have affected my physical, emotional, and spiritual health.

But here’s what I’ve learned: It’s not just about dieting or following a plan. Unhealthy patterns often stem from trauma, childhood experiences, or unhealed wounds. Stress can also play a huge role—it raises cortisol, causes inflammation, and makes weight loss harder. That’s why comparing yourself to others only adds to the burden.

This year, I want to help you approach health differently—spiritually, emotionally, and physically. That’s why I created my new 21-Day Devotional, Binge Free God’s Way. In it, I share my story, insights, and practical tools that helped me break free from unhealthy behaviors. This is not another diet plan—it’s a faith-based guide to overcoming binge and emotional eating by relying on God’s strength and healing.

If you’ve struggled to find lasting peace with food and your body, this resource offers steps to address deeper issues like trauma, stress, and self-esteem. Together, we can focus on progress—not perfection—and embrace a journey toward true healing and freedom.

You don’t have to walk this road alone. Let’s do it together, God’s way.
